9 Aug 2007For those needing to get a driver’s license in Qatar, here are the fees being charged by the driving schools available. Charges mentioned exclude some fees for the actual testing and the license itself if you do pass. I think for each test, you have to pay QR50. Some driving schools give you 3 chances to pass the test while others give you 4.

New Traffic Laws in Qatar

7 Aug 2007The Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued a decree (Law No.19\2007) on traffic laws. Notable among them are the following:
- Qatar Visitors can now make use of their local driver’s license provided they get an approval from the traffic department, 15 days from their arrival in Doha.
- A driver detected not holding a driver’s license would serve jail time of not less than 1 week and no more than 3 years and/or would get a fine between 20,000-50,000
- Point System would be used for traffic violations
