Platinum Fashion Mall, Bangkok Thailand

2 Jul 2010Our first afternoon in Bangkok was spent inside this 6-story “fashion” mall, Platinum Fashion Mall, in Pratunam Area. It’s filled with rows and rows of clothing shops from kids wear, underwear, accessories, men’s and ladies clothes. Most of them cater to ladies though. Still, I’ve already bought myself some polo shirts while Xiane got some bed dresses and Mavis got her share too.As I recall, 2nd floor would hold the kidswear, 3rd floor the underwear, 4th has shoes, 5th would have bags and accessories, the 6th floor is where you can eat. Again, when I say Kidswear on 2nd floor, a little more than 1/4 of the area would hold kids wear while the rest would have ladies wear.
We started at 1:30 and by 4, Xiane was already hungry and tired so we went to the 6th floor to eat. You have the usual “exchange your money for card” set up. The card serves as your debit card to buy food at the stalls. When you finish and still think you have money left on the card, you can exchange it back.
Xiane tried out the Pork and vegetables with Gravy, which turned out to be prok with some modified satay sauce and water crest/”kangkong”. Since xiane loves peanut and Kangkong, it was a hit for her. Mavis bought some Pork Satay and she got me some Roasted Duck. Delicious for cheap. We paid 310baht which included 3 x 30baht fruit shakes.
We also bought Japanese Takoyaki Octopus Balls which were disappointing. I’m hoping I’d get to try better Takoyaki Balls in the Philippines.
We decided to split as Xiane was already tired from walking and met after an hour on the 5th floor. We probably left Platinum Fashion Mall at 6:30 PM after going around more shops. We’re going to take my parents and sister there for sure.
