ipad in Qatar

We were walking towards Chilis in Salwa Road and saw a poster displayed at RadioShack for an iPad! Wow! So you can now buy an iPad direct from a shop in Qatar. We were curious and entered the shop to ask about it. The boxed iPad was displayed along with the other Apple products but there was no test unit. The price? It’s 3899QR for a 16GB unit! What?!!!

Buying from the US, the 16GB WiFi iPad would cost you about $545 (Taxes included) or about 1995Qr (shipping to Qatar not included). The 16GB WiFi + 3G will set you back for US$675 or 2475QR. Of course, you need to find someone to ship it to your Aramex US address as Apple doesn’t ship to forwarders anymore. Still, even with the shipping cost from your Aramex account to Doha, I’m sure it’s not going to cost you more than 500QR for shipping.

I saw this shop, they even have another location in Villaggio… I totally agree with you… My friend ordered one from the US and was going to ship it with Shop&Ship Aramex, will try to see how much it cost him, but I am sure no matter what it will be much less than what price they have offered…

John, try . It’s a site created by a qatari to serve the same purpose. I haven’t checked how much the difference is though. It might still be cheaper your way, I assume.
