Yahoo! Vacation time again for the San Juan’s. I was supposed to post something the other day about our trip back home but I had some problems with my connection at home in Angeles City, Philippines tat I lost my post.

Anyway, we left Doha to start our yearly vacation on July 2, Thursday of last week. We took the afternoon flight of Qatar Airways and arrived safely in Manila at 5:30 A.M. (next day) Philippine Time. There were no other planes that landed so passing immigration was quick. As usual, we spent more than 30 minutes waiting our bags to come out of the conveyor. Xiane was getting impatient as she was really excited to go home. The night before our flight, Mavis and I were still packing our stuff and jokingly told Xiane that if we don’t finish that night, we wouldn’t be able to go home. When she woke up the next day, she immediately asked if we finished packing and when we nodded, she was so relieved and told us that she prayed to God that we may complete our packing.

Once we got our luggage, all 7 of them plus 3 hand carries, we passed customs without hassle except for the long queue for the stamping of the Customs Declaration. Xiane was ecstatic to see her Mamita, Lolo and Tita Tin who left Angeles City at 3:30 A.M. and travel for an hour or so to fetch us in Manila. After breakfast, we went to the Duty Free Shop which was a big building a few Kilometers from the International Airport. We went to visit our relatives, dad’s side, in Makati afterwards and went home to Angeles City where we would be spending half of our vacation time.

It’s just good to be home. Being with family always refreshes us and is something we look forward to every year. Here’s to hoping that this vacation would be as happy and fun-filled as every year!
