IMAX 3D in Doha
I looove this! I hope it won't be that expensive but then again, looking at the prices of "ordinary" tickets (QR35), I'm sure this would be more than double for tickets to the Imax 3D. I'm hoping that Qatar actually invests in more indoor parks and exhibits. Why not get Guiness Book of World Records or Madame trussaud Wax Museum in Doha? Anyway, read on...
The Villaggio Mall will open its 13 cinemas, one an IMAX 3D theatre, this summer.
“We will open our 13 cinemas at the Villaggio Mall between May and June this year. One is an IMAX 3D theatre. We are just finishing the décor, the carpeting, and we are looking into some other details… Once we’ve finished, we will announce the grand opening,” said Mohammad Al Ali, General Manager of the Qatar Bahrain Cinema Company. Al Ali said the cinemas at Villaggio will be the same as the cinemas at the City Centre mall but with different concepts. “The bigger ones will have around 150 seats, the small ones 125 and the IMAX 3D theatre will have around 380. IMAX will have an entirely different concept and seating,” said Al Ali.
Al Ali said a group of people from IMAX will be training people at the Villaggio IMAX cinema for permanent staffing. - The Peninsula
