Planning for Vacation: Part 2
In: Family & Friends | Personal
30 Mar 2009Now, if it’s just adults that you’re taking, you’d be fine in Bangkok especially if you’re really after food and clothes. But since we have 2 kids (Xiane and her Cousin Yiyi), I found out that there’s not much to do for kids except visit a couple of places. Bangkok is more about temples and… temples. Malaysia seems more of a kid-friendly place. There’s Sunway Lagoon and Genting Park along with other activities that they can do in Kuala Lumpur City itself. After several weeks of research, I was finally able to book our flights, all 9 of us (me, Mavis, Xiane, my mom, dad, 2 sisters and brother-in-law and nephew) thru AirAsia. I could have saved at least 3,000QR in fares if we have decided this earlier (thru the December Seat Sale). Which is why, it really pays off planning travels early.
Anyway, we leave from Clark, Philippines to Kuala Lumpur on July 8 and coming back on the 13th. I would have wanted to stay a day or 2 longer but the others have business, work and school commitments. We’d be staying in Genting for 2 nights (already booked in Theme Park Hotel) and 3 nights in Novatel Kuala Lumpur(booked on Accor’s 3 day Sale!). I’ve also looked into the transportation from the Airport to Genting and Genting to Kuala Lumpur. Basically, ¾ of the itinerary is done and already posted on Tripit! The 2 things not yet settled would be the van hire to Kuala Gandah elephant sanctuary and the trip to the airport at 3 in the morning of the 15th.
Overall, after weeks of research, planning, email inquiries, and budgeting, we are ready to go Malaysia!

Have fun! Visit Bato Caves ( don’t know kung tama spelling…), the communications tower and Petrosains in KLCC and of course the Petronas Towers!

Already planned an itenerary but seems that we don’t have a lot of time going to some places. Will be spending 2 nights in Genting then 3 nights in Kuala Lumpur. In KL, we’re going to the Bird Park, Aquaria, and probably to the Elephant Sanctuary Kuala Gandah. And if we have time, Petrosains Discovery Theater.
