School and Work

It has definitely been a very busy week for us three.  My husband was busy as usual with his work plus the meetings that went along with it.  It was the start of another school term for my daughter; as for me, having to work outside the home.

Xiane and I easily got adjusted to our daily routine. I wake up early to prepare food for us to bring to school and work. I have my breakfast, take a shower and get dressed.  Then I wake Xiane up, give her breakfast and prepare her for school.  Then off we go.

Xiane spends her day in school while I work.  Then in the afternoon I pick her up and we go home.  The nice thing about Ramadan is the shortened period at work and school but the worst thing is the terrible traffic you have to endure when it’s time to go home.  School and offices mostly finish at the same time, hence everybody is also out there in their vehicles trying to reach home as fast as they can.  Just today, I’ve witnessed 2 road accidents, one at Salwa Road and the other one at C-Ring Road.  It’s just a terrible thing but you have no other choice.  You simply have to bear with it.

I’ve had a good week at work.  I am happy with the work that I do although I would say that it can be really exhausting at the end of the day.  My legs and feet certainly ache and could use some massage.  But in general, I am very pleased with my job and people in the workplace.

We’ve also had some nice feedbacks regarding Xianelle coming from her new teachers.  I’m glad that she’s adjusted well in no time at all.  She has a lot to look forward to this school year, for one she’s so thrilled that they’re going to have swimming classes for this term.  I just hope that her love for being in the water translates into learning how to swim.  It’s a skill that I would love for her to learn since I never learned it myself.  I’d be very happy when she becomes a skilled swimmer for her own safety.

Thank God it’s a weekend once again.  When you are working, every weekend and every single hour of rest and sleep become so valuable.  This is when the saying “Time is gold” really matters.  So I plan to make this weekend really worthwhile.  Until the next weekend…

WHere do you work?

Hi Abid! Thanks for reading our blog. As much as I'd like to write about my job, I've decided that it would be best to keep it private. All I can tell you is that I am happy with it.
