Eid Holidays 2008
Nothing makes me happier these days than having the weekend but this weekend it extra special. This weekend will be followed by the long Eid holiday. Luckily for me, I’ll be having the Eid holiday as long as my daughter’s, which is having the whole week off. Yahoo! That means no getting up early in the morning; we’ll have all the time to chill out.
My husband’s holiday starts a few days later nevertheless we’ve already got plans for the Eid. We’re planning to go a beach somewhere in Dukhan and spend the whole morning there. We’ll if we’re not lazy, everything should go as planned. For the rest of the holiday, we might go to Al Ghazal club and swim some more, and go to the malls for a stroll and to dine out. Well, I did say that it’s time to chill out however, chores still need to be accomplished as usual. There’s the laundry and ironing. At least I’ll have one whole day to finish my ironing and just chill out afterwards.
On Monday, a family friend will be coming over to have dinner with us. We’re actually excited about it because it will be their first time to come here. The first time we met they invited us over to their place and ate out at Bennigan’s. It was our first meeting but my husband and I consider them among our very few friends here in Doha. Speaking of friends, it makes me a bit sad that two good friends of ours and their family have already left Doha for good. The guy got a good offer in Bahrain and the wife had to go back to the Philippines with the children for now. I feel sad because we’ve known them way back, when we were still in Saudi. One of their children is even my Godchild. But that’s life; after all we are all here on a temporary basis, which is for as long as we have our jobs here. I’m glad that they got they’re given a better opportunity in Bahrain. It’s just that I know I’m gonna miss my good old friend.
Well, I know that now Ramadan is almost over, everyone is looking forward to having the Eid holidays. So here’s wishing everyone a restful and enjoyable good time this Eid. Eid Mubarak!
