Last Two Days

Today, every class in DMBS had their very own end of term party.  Each child had to bring food good for 6 kids that he/she chooses (actually the parents) on a list.  I prepared nuggets, muffins and some crisps.  I also decided to bake chocolate cake for their class.  I know it’s chocolate, not allowed in school but hey, give the children a break.  It’s their special day so I guess it not a big deal to be munching some of that brown cake, right.

Xianelle wanted to wear her Aurora dress.  At first I agreed since it says in the memo that was sent to all the parents that they can wear party dresses.  But after she had tried it on this morning, I realized that it was too much for this kind of party.  So we had to convince Xiane that she might not be able to wear the Aurora dress.  Nonetheless, we brought it to school today just in case anyone else would be wearing the sort of dress.  Unfortunately, though some of the girls in her class wore dresses, no one wore fancy ones.  I saw some girls from other classes wearing a gown and even a fairy costume but the deal was it had to be in her class.  Xiane was disappointed at first but after telling her that the gown didn’t fit the occasion, she understood and cheered up.

When I came to fetch her, all the children were still playing with their balloons.  I had to call Xiane several times before we were able to leave.  All of them got a gift from Edward the bear and she also got a prize from the game that they played.  Without having to ask, I knew that she enjoyed the party but I asked anyway.

So it’s down to the last day in school which will be tomorrow.  Although they won’t have anything else to do, I will still be bringing Xiane to school so that she can spend time to play with her friend and classmates.  It would be nice that she’ll be going to school for fun and play alone.  They’ll be coming to class in civilian clothes tomorrow.  I’m sure that Xiane will have a blast playing tomorrow, she better because she won’t be seeing her friends for a while.  Our congratulations to all the children of DMBS, especially from Reception Purple for a job well done!  Until the next term…
