How to save Elfyourself Video

How do you save the Elfyourself video? It would be nice to have a video of the Elfyourself on your harddrive or thumbdrive instead of accessing the web everytime. Since it's in Flash, the creators made sure that people go to the site and not be able to embed the animation or download it. It's a complicated thing that even for my expertise in Flash, I wasn't able to directly download it. So how do you save Elfyourself animation to a video file? Read on.

1. Go to Elfyourself.com and upload your photo to create your Elfyourself Animation.

2. There are screen capture programs that you can use to capture the animation as it plays on your screen. I used TechSmith Camtasia Studio which you can download for this project as they give you a 30 day - free trial. If you're a bit tech savvy, you can do the capture in less than 5 minutes of configuring the software. READ the helpfile if and when needed! I used a 800X600 capture on my project and not the whole screen.

3. With regards to the music, I'm letting you download the Elfyourself music in MP3 here (Right-click and save as).

4. Now, to put  your Elfyourself Video and the Elfyourself soundtrack together, I used Sony Vegas. A 30 day - free trial is also available but you may also want to try other video editing programs like that of Windows Movie Maker or whatever you find free in Downloads.com. Depending on your video editor, you can save it your compiled file to MP4, MPG, AVI, MOV and even DIVX.

5. For uploading to Youtube, I used Riva FLV Encoder.
