Toys R' Us Sale

We went to Toys R' Us near Al Sadd today as we were informed by Tito Yam and Ma May yesterday that they are having a 3 day sale. They were selling everything with a 25% discount. This was a first for Toys R' Us in Qatar. The items in Toys R' Us in Qatar are quite more expensive than buying them from the US chain direct. However, with the 25% off, prices seem better. We went there to look and hopefully buy some LeapPad books for Xiane's LeapPad Learning System. The books were QR85 each or US$23. On the net, you can buy them for prices between US12-14 (QR51 Max), a lot of difference even with the 35% discount. The QR85 would go down to QR63 but still higher than those in the US plus you get to choose different books there. Even with the shipping fee, I think it is better to buy in the US so we decided to just order online. In any case, Xiane got to pick two toys. We don't usually buy her toys since she's doesn't ask for them as she's content with the ones she has at home. Most of the toys she has are gifts to her from family and friends. Or prizes that we get from playing in Lulu Hypermarket's Kiddie park. The last toy that we got her last month was a block set which we thought would be good for her as she likes building things. Anyway, going back to the toys that she chose,  she had a difficult time deciding between a Barbie Princess Annalisse doll and a Bob the Builder toy set. She already chose a Barbie Fairytopia doll when we started. You should have seen her as she was really having trouble deciding what to leave behind. In the end, she decided that she liked the Barbie Princess Annalisse doll and the Bob the Buider playset better. I personally liked the Barbie Fairytopia doll but it was her decision.

Since we were already there, we also decided to get a gift for Xiane's playmate Princess who would be celebrating her birthday this September. We were surprised to see Tito Yam and Ma May there. They were buying items for their nieces. They even gave us the idea of buying items for Christmas since Toys R' Us doesn't usually hold Sales. So off we went, trying to buy items for our friends' kids which we are planning to give this Christmas.

I was supposed to pay QR500++ for the items that we bought but only paid 350++ because of the discount. Great! So if you're reading this tonight, you still have 3 hours to get to Toys R' Us before their sale ends. Go!!!
