Ramadan Office Hours and Eid Holidays 2006

The Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and Housing has announced that the working time for government employees and workers during the holy month Ramadan will be five hours per day, starting from 8:00 am to 1:00pm.

The ministry has also announced the Eid Al Fitr holidays. In a statement issued yesterday, it said October 19 (Thursday) will be the last working day in Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr holidays will start from Friday, October 20, until Sunday, October 29, and employees shall resume work on Monday, October 30.

Does the holidays apply to non-government employees as well who are office based?


Yup. Holidays apply to non-government employees as well. The working time in Ramadan, however, is dependent on the company you're working for.
