Canon EOS 400D/Rebel XTI
Canon 400D/Rebel XTi

The buzz is on for all Canon lovers. Since it’s time for the Photokina event where all big time camera makers announce their new product line ups. As always, everybody gets to guess what Canon, Nikon, Fuji and other big names in the industry are going to show off. As a Canon user, having the 300D(Digital Rebel) before and currently owns the 350, I’m more interested in what they have to offer. What’s buzzing at forums? The Canon 400D or Rebel XTI. It’s supposed to be an upgrade to the Canon 350D. There are a lot of speculations and rumors about the Canon 400D/Rebel XTi (as always when a new product is about to come out). A page was seen at Canon’s China site which apparently detailed the specs of the Canon 400D/Rebel XTi but was immediately taken down. Images and details are now circulating about the camera which I’ll post here. Significant updated features of the Canon 400D/Rebel XTi would be the Dust Removal System, the 10.1 MP Sensor, and 9 focus points. Although they lowered the sealing for the ISO which is now just 1600 from previous 3200. For me, this is ok since no one really uses the 3200 ISO because of the noise it produces. With regards to the updated features, I think they’re great but since these are rumors, we really can’t be sure. What would happen to the Canon 30D, a supposedly higher camera model, if they release the canon 400D, which should be part of Canon’s entry level line up? Anyway, let’s see in the coming days if the "leaked" information about the Canon 400D/ Rebel XTI is true.

For now, here are the "details" and some photos being circulated of the 400D/Rebel XTI

Along with the new camera body comes the new Canon EF lenses. Both are L lenses mind you. Meaning, high quality and high investment…he he he. Both looks pretty good though I’m not too sure if the 50mm 1.2L lens would have a lot of takers since both non-L lenses, the 1.8 and 1.4 are already sufficient

My first digital camera was the Minolta Dimage 7 then moved up to a DSLR, the Canon 300D. Sold that after a year and got myself the Canon EOS 350D. If you look at the EXIF data on the gallery photos by clicking a small icon at the bottom of the individual photo, you’ll see the model of the camera used and the parameters of the camera when I took the certain shot.
And I’m still updating the gallery… ;)
